DREAM® for Windows Specifications

1. Diagnosed machine unit types:

  • Rotor and shaft line

  • Rolling element bearings

  • Fluid film bearings

  • Gearboxes with rolling element or fluid film bearings and belt and chain drives

  • Bladed machines including pump impellers, fans, and turbines

  • Electromagnetic systems of electric machines

In each type of unit listed above, DREAM® can find up to fourteen different defect types with the severity of each defect. Based on the defect identification, it can forecast the minimum safe operating period of the machine for periods of up to six months.

  • Rotor assembly and operational defects:

    • unbalance

    • wobbling

    • jointed coupling defects

    • soft foot

    • support defects

  • Rolling element bearing installation and wear defects:

    • revolution around outer race

    • nonuniform radial tension

    • outer race misalignment

    • cavities, cracks on outer race

    • wear of inner race

    • cavities, cracks on inner race

    • wear of cage and rolling elements

    • cavities, cracks on rolling elements

    • defects of several friction surfaces
      slip of race

    • lubrication defects

  • Fluid film bearing installation and wear defects:

    • shaft wobbling (revolution)

    • liner misalignment

    • wear of liner

    • self-sustaining rotor oscillations

    • shocks in the bearing

    • lubrication defects

  • Gearbox assembly and operational defects:

    • gear wheel wobbling (misalignment)

    • wear (cracks) of gear teeth

    • defects of interaction between gears

  • Defects of impeller or bladed wheel assemblies:

    • wobbling,

    • blades defects (wear, crack, resonance),

    • increased turbulence of flow in the working wheel zone,

    • cavitation in liquid

  • AC machinery defects:

    • rotor windings and active iron defects (open/short circuits)

    • stator windings and active iron defects (open/short circuits)

    • static eccentricity of air gap

    • dynamic eccentricity of air gap

    • power supply defects (mains supply)

 

3. Measurement points:

  • On the machine case or on bearing housings


4. Types of spectra required for diagnostics:

  • Narrow band autospectra measured according determined by DREAM® from the machine specifications

  • Narrow band envelope spectra selected by 1/3 or 1/1 octave band pass filters determined by DREAM® from the machine specifications


5. Defect levels

  • Levels for severe defects are recommended by the system according to the machine data, but can be adjusted by the user.

  • Levels for medium and incipient defects are based on the levels for severe defects.

  • Levels for severe defects can be adjusted by the customer any time after he gets experience in diagnostics and visual inspection of the defective units.


6. Condition Based Maintenance and Works Planning

  • An automatic long-term condition forecast is presented in terms of the date of the next measurement. This is a forecast safe operation period for each of the machine units in cases where no dangerous defects or defect combinations are found.

  • Issuance of recommendations for the maintenance, repair or other corrective actions to be made after the detection of dangerous defects or those installation defects that decrease the machine service life;

  • Each particular defect development rate is taken into account together with possible combinations of defects during the calculation of the forecast of the safe operation period for the machine;

  • Short-term condition forecasts taking into account trends for developed severe defects after they reach a dangerous stage;

  • Automatic planning of the next measurements taking into account the diagnosed condition of the machine and its forecast.


7. Diagnostic Results Analysis and Presentation

  • Lists of the diagnostics results and maintenance recommendations;

  • Graphical and text presentation of the diagnostic process with the symptoms for each defects found;

  • Graphic analysis of all measured spectra with all characteristic frequencies displayed, advanced cursor functions, etc.;

  • Graphic analysis of trends for certain defects and spectrum components;

  • Reports on diagnostics of machine groups, units, groups of units.


8. Reporting

  • Automatic generation of reports of diagnostics and recommendations for maintenance for each of machine unit, machine or group of machines;

  • Automatic generation of route maps for measurements and corresponding reports;

  • Automatic generation of reports on measurement setups required for diagnostics.


9. User interface

  • Windows 95 or Windows NT compatible;

  • Easy navigation through equipment tree;

  • Display of photographic images pictures of your machinery and plant.
    Intensive mouse operation. All major commands are accessed from a local context sensitive menu by a single mouse click.
